Huntsville Youth Orchestra - Von Braun - Huntsville
North Alabama's finest ensemble experience for young musicians. For each performance, the pieces are carefully selected to challenge and stimulate development of the particular skills of each group of performers.
Veteran's Day Parades
Monday November 9
Who doesn't love a parade! And a parade to honor our country's Veteran's is sure to please all. Go catch one and not only show your thanks to our Vets, but hear some of the finest marching bands around.
Birmingham
Birmingham will again hold the nation’s oldest Veteran’s Day parade. It will travel through downtown Birmingham, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Huntville
There will be seven bands, led off by the impressive Alabama A&M Band; 11 JROTC and ROTC units; Cahaba Shriners, Vets for Vettes Corvette Club, Patriot Guard Riders, Semper Fi Rider and much more!
The parade begins at 11 a.m.with a cannon blast fired by the Marine Corps Kilo Battery.
Mobile
Mobile is going all out with day long events, starting with a 100+ unit parade through downtown Mobile, followed by noontime banquet honoring the "Patriot of the Year," then to USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park for a Friends of Freedom Foundation celebration, followed by patroitic music evening concert by the Mobile Symphonic Pops Band.
In Honor of the brave soldiers on that fateful day in November....
