Andrew Lloyd Webber, the world renowned  composer and producer has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
In a written statement, his spokeswoman from the PR firm of Brown Lloyd James, stated only that "The condition is in its very early stages. Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year."

Lloyd Webber, 61 often teamed up with Tim Rice and together they gave the world the award winning musicals of  Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita. Lloyd Webber also wrote Cats and The Phantom of the Opera, two of the longest running musicals on Broadway.

Lloyd Webber won a Grammy for Requiem Mass  dedicated to his father, William, who had died in 1982.

In 1992 he became Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, knighted by Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

Thankfully with modern medicine and early detection of his cancer, a full recovery is expected. The world can expect  continued music from Sir Lloyd Webber, for he vows to be back to work before the years end, saying “The show WILL go on.”
