It's Firkin Alive! is yet another Cleveland Beer Week event that has limited ticket availability. It will be held at the brewery on Thursday October 22 at 6:30 pm.
It promises to be the best "in brewery" event of CBW! They will have 10 cask-conditioned ales to taste, paired with different cheeses from Heinen's.
Cask-conditioned means the beer is not artificially carbonated. It is unfiltered and the secondary fermentation that produces the 'fizzies' in the beer happens in the keg/barrel/cask. It is what the British call "real" ale. If the yeast is still alive and still conditioning the beer, it is "real." And, a "firkin" is a small or 1/4 size barrel. Thus the "It's Firkin Alive!" title for this event. Indigo Imp Brewery will have their Blonde Bombshell, Jester, and Gatekeeper on tap along with cask beer from other breweries.
In addition to great beer and great cheese, there will be live jazz music by Mobius.
All proceeds benefit Fairmount Center for the Arts, and tickets are $30 per person before October 20, and $35 per person thereafter and the door, IF there are any left.
