For those of you that have had your head in a barrel for the last month and don't know about Cleveland Beer Week, it is down to the last few days! (Hope you had your head in a barrel of something good, because you've missed out on lots of wonderful events since October 16.) There are many things still to come, but it all ends Saturday with the BrewZilla Monster Beer tasting at the Cleveland Arcade.
Check the schedule at Clevelandbeerweek.org for details but there are many events from specials at your local good beer bar to beer/food pairing dinners, meet the brewer events, It's Firkin Alive cask event, and others. For example, Friday night has a Goose Island Beer Dinner at Ballantine, Great Lakes Beer dinner at Flemings, and a pub crawl in Lakewood.
There is also a a Night of the Living Dead Scavenger Hunt and Haunted Houses in Tremont. This promises to be a night of fright and fun. Scavenger hunt and haunted houses through Southside, Lava Lounge, Prosperity Social Club, Flying Monkey, and Treehouse! Joined by the conductor of cosmic symphonies himself, Alan Newman, it will begin at Southside at 6 p.m. for rules and end at the Flying Monkey at midnight to pick the winner. Grand prize winner gets a trip for two to Magic Hat's Mardi Gras parade in Burlington, VT! In the event of a tie, the person in the best costume will be crowned! This is a FREE event.
So.. check the schedule and get to as many events as possible. Cleveland Beer Week won't be back again until next year (we hope!) The slide show below is some random photos taken at various events. One was the Jolly Pumpkin beer dinner at Lolita's in which we were treated to three beers not on the menu and not released to the public yet.
