Some of the issues that will be addressed include:

  • Defining standardized tests and how professionals and educators use them to analyze brain processes.
  • How test scores are used in making recommendations for a student at an IEP/IPP team meeting, and/or in an administrative hearing.
  • Why particular assessments are more appropriate than others when assessing a child with autism and other specific disabilities.
  • Common deficiencies seen in District/Regional Center testing and recommendations.
  • The importance of observing a student in a classroom and observing a District's offered placement in the context of an educational evaluation.
  • The importance of using expert psychoeducational testimony at the IEP and hearing levels.
