You have to figure if any city if going to throw an inaugural party to celebrate Barack Obama it would be Washington, D.C. I mean Obama will be living in the District for the next four to eight years, and the city voted something like 9-1 in support of him. Well lo and behold, Washington is having the Inaugural DC Ball.

The ball is taking place on Jan. 20, from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Old Post Office Pavilion. It is located at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. Of course, if D.C. is throwing a party, the Godfather of Go-Go, Chuck Brown must be involved. I have yet to see Brown in person but I am familiar with him from his D.C. Lottery commercials.

Tickets for the ball cost $150 and can be purchased here. A ticket grants you access to an evening of beverages, light fare and an inaugural souvenir. Also, you will get free admission to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum to take a picture with a wax figure of Barack Obama. I can just imagine a group of people going to the museum and one person asking their friends, "can we take a picture with Obama?" Someone is surely to answer, "Yes we can!" It's gotta happen right?

The ball is located across the street from the Federal Triangle Metro stop. More info about the venue can be found here.
