To be honest at first I didn't know what to make of "Walking With Dinosaurs" but I have totally fallen behind the event now. From Sept. 16-20, eight shows in all, people will be able to grab a seat at Verizon Center and watch some of the dinosaurs they have feared/revered all their lives. To be sure, visitors do not get to actually go walking among these giant lizards. Walking with Dinosaurs is a theatrical show where 15 dinosaurs, 10 different species, come to life. Tickets prices are $19.50, $39.50 and $49.50 so it will cost more to get right up next to a T. rex but those sitting farther back should be OK as well. The brachiosaurus is 36 feet tall and the T. rex comes in at 23 feet tall. The bigger dinosaurs are animatronic but some of the smaller ones are controlled by people in costume. Check out the slideshow below for a glimpse of what to expect. Also, here's a video of the smallest dinosaur from the show at Potomac Mills Mall in July.
