Vancouver homeschoolers place 2nd in National Science Olympiad competition

After placing 1st in Washington, the ExCEL Science Olympiad team, a group of fifteen Vancouver area homeschoolers, went on to place 2nd in the U.S. at the National Science Olympiad Competition on May 16 in Augusta, Georgia.

In the Olympiad competition, teams compete in 23 events from all areas of science, including building, knowledge, and laboratory events. Most teams are from public or private middle schools.

ExCEL is a homeschool cooperative. The science team practices once per month in Washougal.
