What is a Mommy Makeoverj?  It's a combination surgery of the breasts and abdomen to address the changes that can take place in woman's body after having children.  For the breasts, this can involve a lift, breast implants, or a combination of the two.  Concerning the abdomen, a tummy tuck is usually necessary.  However, a mini tummy tuck with liposuction may also be an option.

Breast surgery is very well tolerated and can be performed on an outpatient basis.  Choices of implants include saline or silicone implants, smooth or textured implants, and anatomic or round implants.  Talk with your plastic surgeon about the pros and cons of each choice and to determine the best kind for you.

Tummy tucks are great for restoring a flat contour to the abdominal area.  The excess fat and skin are removed from below the belly button, and the muscles are tightened.  This is also done on an outpatient basis, but combining both breast and abdominal surgery may warrant an overnight stay in the hospital for a smoother recovery.

After the operations, recovery consists of 1-2 weeks off of work and 6 weeks off if a tummy tuck is done.  All in all, the scars usually heal very well and the results can be wonderful for the Mommy Makeover!.
