ScholarshipExperts is offering the Shout It Out Scholarship again in 2009 and will award
five scholarships of $1,000 each.
Applicants must:
• Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
• Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
• Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2014) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
• Submit an online short written response (250 words or less) for the scholarship topic:
“If you were given the opportunity to say anything to the admissions staff at your prospective college (or to the faculty of your current school), what one thing would you ‘shout out’ to make them remember you?”

Horatio Alger Association
High school seniors
As one of the nation's largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is the only major scholarship effort that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many aid programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger program also seeks students who have a commitment to use their college degrees in service to
others. There are three required essays.
U.S. citizen
*Financial need is an important factor in awarding scholarships. $50,000 or
less adjusted gross income per family is preferred; if higher, an explanation
must be provided
*All applicants must have and maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average
on a 4.0 scale

WEC Mini Baja® Challenge for Women Team Leaders
The SAE Women Engineers Committee (WEC) has issued a $1,000 challenge to all SAE Mini Baja® collegiate design teams with women leaders and predominantly women teams. The committee will select an outstanding team by January 31 at which time the funds will be granted to help the team complete its vehicle and travel to the event. The award consists of a $1,000 grant to the selected team.
