Does dad really need another tie or shirt this Fathers Day? Each year we ply our fathers with tools, robes, and sometimes gift certificates to sporting events or even a round of golf. Do does things adequately convey just how important Dads are? The most precious gift anyone can give, is that of ones time. This year instead of buying another gadget or piece of clothing that will eventually fade, give him the priceless gift of time with the family.
As we all have come to realize the days of youth are fleeting, in the blink of an eye children grow up and all that remains are memories. Fathers Day 2009 can be made memorable by devoting time and a little literature to express the appreciation and love we feel for our Dads. During breakfast or brunch as the children come in for their hugs and kisses bring along some books. Make it a memorable Fathers Day by choosing books that celebrate Dad. Have the children take turns reading for him or with him. Have some tissues handy the big guy may shed a tear with all of the attention he is receiving. This is sure to be an activity that will be cherished for years to come.
