business woman at computerWhat’s likely to happen if you take a job at a non-profit?
  • You’ll get experience in more facets of the organization than you dreamed possible.

  • You’ll learn that teamwork is more than just a buzzword; it’s a necessity.

  • You’ll have a reason for going to work each day that’s greater than making money or advancing your career.

  • You’ll develop skills you can use at any job, whether you stay in nonprofits or move to the for-profit world.
I worked in non-profits for 25 years, until I started working for myself. I highly recommend them.

To get you started, here are just some of the job openings I found by visiting non-profit Web sites:

Kiwanis International (HQ in Indianapolis)

Consider a job in the non-profit sector. Don't assume that you'll earn less money than at a comparable position at a for-profit corporation, or that the benefits won't be as good. Keep an open mind, and see what's out there. Good luck!
