Writing With Style Workshop coming this fall

Author and writing workshop leader Brian Henry continues his ongoing series of local classes at Toronto’s World’s Biggest Bookstore this fall.

Targeted for writers of fiction, non-fiction and all forms of creative writing, the “Writing With Style” workshop teaches participants the nuts and bolts of vivid writing and offers ways to avoid common errors when you put pen to paper.

About the Workshop Leaders

With the instruction of local author Brian Henry, residents throughout the GTA can polish up their writing skills.

A book editor and creative writing instructor for more than 25 years, Henry teaches Creative Writing at both Ryerson University and George Brown College.

He also puts his expertise to good use by leading a series of workshops throughout Mississauga, Burlington and Oakville.

Jean-Rae Baxter, author of short story collection, A Twist of Malice published by Seraphim Press will be a guest speaker at the event. Baxter has also written a young adult historical novel, The Way Lies North (Ronsdale Press), and a literary murder mystery, Looking for Cardenio (Seraphim). The Bottom Line

Workshops are a great way to hone your writing skills and to learn new techniques.

When headed by published authors, both novice and experienced writers can gather valuable feedback and instruction by those who have traveled the road from initial idea to publication.

Love writing workshops – also a good way to socialize and network.

Wish there was something like this close to me! I think writing is a combo of natural talent and solid education. I've never taken a writing workshop but did take Creative Writing in College. Loved it! I miss the enforced "made me work through my writer's block and/or plain laziness" deadlines. Highly recommend one, if you're into writing.
