Creating a steady stream of writing for your website is a great way to keep people coming back.
But how do you make sure your content is fresh?
Web Serial Writing Month could be just the way to flex your writing muscles while giving your readers something to read every week.
Web Serial Writing Month
Writing an ongoing fiction serial is an excellent way to keep readers interested and to bringing traffic to your website.
Started by EpiGuide, an online community devoted to web dramas and soaps to webcomics, RPGs and beyond, Web Serial Writing Month (WeSeWriMo) is modeled after and inspired by National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).
While NaNoWriMo requires authors to write an entire novel during the month of November, WeSeWriMo focuses on websoaps, podcasts, serial stories, online graphic novels, web comics and other forms of online fiction.
Participants set their own individual goals, in the form of a certain number of episodes/installments, monthly or daily word counts.
How To Join
Writers interested in participating can sign up at the EpiGuide website and then add their project to the official WeSeWriMo thread.
It is free to take part and a novel way to interact with other writers.
Toronto Community
Do you want to get a feel for the feeling of community that initiatives like WeSeWriMo and NaNoWriMo create? Torontonians can check out the official website for the Toronto NaNoWriMo community or start chatting with members on Twitter or Facebook.
The Bottom Line
While writers can work privately, initiatives such as Web Serial Writing Month provide an instant community and motivation to work towards one’s goals.

I am not much of a fiction writer unfortunately but this is great for those who are. :)
What a great challenge. I'll be sending this along to friends of mine who have done NaNoWriMo and who might want to diversify their writing.
Writing fiction is my thing! Have never heard of this. Thank you for the info. Will definitely be looking to participate.
