Looking for something artsy to do this weekend?
University of Toronto’s student newspaper is hosting a literary mashup and you're invited!
Inspired by Chris Berube’s story, “Death of the artist?”, in their fall issue, the editors of The Varsity began to wonder what would a literary mashup look like and whether their idea would inspire students to get involved.
The event, which will allow crafty types who want to channel their inner collage artist by cutting and pasting words (and some images) from Toronto-related books, will take place over the course of 3 days.
Free food & drinks will be provided, as well as the books from which to create your masterpiece.
Event info
Address: 21 Sussex Ave. (behind Robarts), second floor.
Friday, January 8 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
Saturday, January 9, 12 P.M. to 5 P.M.
Sunday, January 10, 12 P.M. TO 2 P.M.
If the entertainment and artistic aspects are not enough of a draw, organizers are considering printing the results in their All Arts issue, which will hit stands January 19.
