Forms of writing are just as varied as writers themselves

Just as varied as the writers who practice them, there are many different forms of writing for authors to sink their teeth into.
In a 2008 Statistics Canada survey on household spending, Ontario was second to Alberta in monies spent on reading and other printed material. So, the market is there. The question is, what will you contribute?

What form(s) of writing do you do? Are you drawn to the make-believe world of fiction? Or do you prefer to present the facts of non-fiction? Why do you choose one over the other? What is your favorite thing about your chosen form(s) of writing?

I enjoy writing both fiction and poetry, but from time to time, I'll write a memoir or vignette as well.
Good on you for expanding your literary horizons! I used to write poetry but haven't done so in a while now. Maybe I'll pick it back up. Thanks Jenny!
when i was younger it was definitely cartoons. what you choose not to say in words, you may do so in a picture !
Thanks for your comment Poe. You say you used to draw cartoons when you were younger. Why did you stop? Do you think you will ever start drawing again?
well mary, most of my "cartooning" was done during my college years when i worked part-time as a telemarketer. and if anyone has ever had a job soliciting people over the phone, i am sure they would be able to attest to the insane boredom that comes with the trade. so, from what started as a form of rebellious vandalism of the oak desk phone stations, to doodling on the back of the script sheets, to finally the witty satire that emerged in the leather bound scrapbooks, my cartooning career began.. today, i am happy to say that i survived those call center 'darkyears' and have moved on to bigger and better things in my life. and along the way i have inherited new responsibilities (although cliche)... a family, a mortgage and a 9-5 job which consume most hours of my day.... so, to make a long winded story short and sweet, my answers to your questions are :
a. see above
b. maybe, but i will have to see how it fits in with my new life.

Mary, I'm going to have to agree with Poe on that one.
I too was heavily into the whole comic book thing, until I realized that most girls are not.
Trust me, I spent too many Friday nights at home alphabetizing my comic book collection just wishing that I could instead be watching Spiderman on the big screen sitting next to a hot girl.
