The annual Vegas Valley Book Festival will be held Wednesday, November 4 through Sunday, November 8, 2009. Most sessions will take place at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth Street. Other venues include the Clark County Library at 1401 E. Flamingo Road and the 18 b Arts District
Local authors are invited to participate in the Local Author Fair on November 7th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and November 8 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Free table space in which to exhibit, sign and sell books will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. To reserve a spot, call Bianca Cardenas at (702) 229-3515.
The Book Festival is presented by the city of Las Vegas Office of Cultural Affairs, Nevada Humanities, Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. Programming partners include UNLV Black Mountain Institute, the UNLV School of Architecture Downtown Design Center and the UNLV Creative Writing Department. Sponsors include TARGET®, Nevada Arts Council, Barnes & Noble, National Endowment for the Arts, KNPR Nevada Public Radio and the local chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design-- the festival’s creative branding partner.
