A visit to Tee & Cakes (1932 14th Street) is always a treat. It's a little hard on the wallet, sure, but it's exceedingly easy on all the senses. Those cupcakes are beautiful and delicious. And if you've happened to stop in recently for a breakfast burrito and a couple of mini cream-puff-and-meringue "burgers" (three guesses what this Examiner had for breakfast) you might have noticed this story contest announcement on take-away quarter-sheet flyers up at the register:
This here photo of a random pairing of tasty sugar cookies just invites some kooky tales to be drummed up and told to our faithful customers. We created this contest for our creative customers, which seem to be just about everyone who walks through the door… The idea is simple:
Create a story based on the three objects/nouns/characters you see below: A Rooster, A Mushroom and A Lightning Bolt. They do not have to be cookies in the story. The three items can be included in any basic story format (funny, weird, drama (oh, no!) etc).
Deadline: Tuesday, June 1, 2010
Word Length: 500-1000
Entry fee: None!
Email submissions to "info" at "teeandcakes" dot com with a subject header of "Cookie Tale."
The best part? The winning story, chosen by the Tee & Cakes Literature Panel, will win its author a dozen cupcakes. Free of charge. Which ever sort you like. How cool is that?
