Jackson Unmasked: Book Hits Shelves In Record Time

After Jackson's shocking death, AEG grabbed the ability to produce and publicize his very public memorial service.  Gaining over 31 million viewers from television broadcasts and millions more watching via streaming video online, according to CBS News via the Associated Press.

With his music soaring to the top of the iTunes and Amazon bestseller lists, books about Jackson's life were 'gaining little traction'.

Ian Halperin didn't think so in Decemeber and Simon & Schuster feels differently now.  While other major publishing houses have order some 20,000 copies of other Jackson related books, Simon & Schuster are planning to blitz the market with Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson by Ian Halperin.  Acquiring the title on July 1st, Simon & Schuster will be printing 500,000 copies for the first run of the book.  Scheduled to hit the stores on July 14th, Simon & Schuster credit cooperation and coordination for the speedy turn around.

New York Times bestselling author, Ian Halperin pitched in December 2008 that Jackson would be dead.  Halperin believes greed killed Jackson.  The book set to be a fast paced suspenseful thriller.

Some Austin area booksellers are anticipating buyers.  Local Barnes & Noble set to stock the thriller.   Update: Borders set to offer the book at local stores, the Austin-Southpark location to have 25 copies available.

Simon & Schuster is also offering the book on-line and in ebook format directly.

Halperin has written biographies about Kurt Cobain and James Taylor.  Halperin has also written several on supermodels and Tinseltown.  All of which are available at BookPeople and other local stores.

Ian Helperin is unreliable. Don't buy this book. It belongs to the science fiction section.

The most hits ever on my Examiner page was when I wrote about this book June 28. Some people are really upset about this book, and some took it out on me. It was so bad I had to post a disclaimer saying that I would delete any profanity-filled comments or comments that contain personal attacks on me. I hope this doesn't happen to you:)

It truly disturbs me that the media continues to report on Ian's gossip and innuendo just to help line his pockets. He is the one who insisted last December that MJ suffered from Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, severe emphysema, 95% blind in his left eye, near mute (unable to speak), lung and liver disease, in dire need of a transplant, serious back and leg pain, virtually bedridden and unable to get out, amongst others. MJ had to take a 5 hour medical exam before he could consider the O2 concerts and the medical examiners and AEG officials confirmed he passed with flying colors and the ONLY illness he had at the time was slight hayfever (a common cold) in addition to his near life-long and enduring skin conditions Vitiligo and Lupus. Forensic experts acknowledged that his autopsy "made no mention of an injury or trauma to the body and no mention of natural disease," again confirming he had no life threatening diseases as Ian claims in his book.

This is all rubbish, don’t buy this book, they just want to take advantage of Michael’s death and make money out of it, so don’t fall for this!

I agree with the above. This man is trying to pad his pockets on false stories about Michael. We all know Michael was not capable of such things. He had such a pure heart. How can rubbish like this get printed. I hope they go bankrupt.

Just listening to some of the things that is in this book sounds extremely ridiculous! Someone should tell this guy to re-check his sources again! I would never pay a dime for his crap!
