Reports of Michael Jackson’s death have prompted many people to recollect his most influential effects on the world at large. From music videos to infamous dance moves, Jackson has provided his fans with vivid memories. However, there are less obvious ways that he has left his mark on the world: as an author, poet, and in films both acting in them and providing music for them.
Bruno – Just hours after Jackson’s death, Bruno was set to premiere in Los Angeles. As an act of respect for the Jackson family, filmmakers decided to cut a scene featuring La Toya (Michael’s sister) in which Bruno asks for an introduction to her famous brother.
Ben (1972) – Perhaps his most famous theme song, Jackson wrote the song about a misfit boy and his friend, Ben, who is a rat. The movie of the same name was a sequel to the immensely spine-tingling hit released in 1971, Willard.
The Wiz – An adaptation of one of Jackson’s favorite movies, The Wizard of Oz, the Wiz featuring Diana Ross, as Dorothy, and Michael as the Scarecrow, was an urban rendition of a classic.
Dream Girls re-enacted a Jackson 5 performance.
13 Going on 30 starring Jennifer Garner featured the Thriller Dance.
Free Willy – Theme song Will you be there by Michael Jackson.
Men in Black II featured a cameo of Jackson.
Rush Hour 2 – Chris Tucker did a karaoke version of Don’t Stop til You Get Enough.
Dream a Little Dream – Corey Feldman dances like Michael Jackson.
Zoolander – Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson compete to Jackson’s Beat it.
The Wedding Singer – Adam Sandler’s friend wears Jackson’s famous red jacket.
Captian EO – Jackson is the spaceship captain in a 3D movie at Disney theme park.
