Missoula, Montana-based small group tour operator Adenture Life Voyages has recently announced huge discounts on their 7 and 10-day tours to the Galapagos Islands. Through the middle of December, travelers can save approximately 45% off the regular price of Galapagos cruises departing in November and December 2009.
Adventure Life Voyages offers three different Galapagos cruises aboard the luxury catamaran Athala, which was designed and built for elegant cruises to the islands. All cabins are deluxe with private bathrooms, water, air conditioning, wall-to-wall carpeting, private balconies and ocean views with large portrait windows.
All trips begin and end in Quito, Ecuador. One 7-day tour includes stops at:
- Santa Cruz Highlands
- Charles Darwin Research Station
- Bartolome
- Fernandina
- Isabela
- Santiago
- Rabida
- San Cristobal
Another 7-day tour includes:
- San Cristobal
- Espanola
- Floreana
- Santa Fe
- Santa Cruz
- Charles Darwin Research Station
- North Seymour
The 10-day tour is a combination of all the stops from both of the 7-day tours.
Through December 15, 2009, travelers can save $1,305 on 7-day tours and $2,195 on 10-day tours departing on November 19, November 26, December 7 and December 14, 2009.
Prices include two nights accommodation in Quito, a Galapagos cruise, meals in the Galapagos, naturalist guide on the yacht and all domestic transfers.
Not included in the price is domestic airfare ($350-425), international airfare, international transfers, airport taxes, travel insurance, lunch and dinners in towns and cities and entrance fees for Galapagos National Park ($100).

I never got to the Galapagos by ship, but I met some of the turtles when I sailed to St. Helena in the Atlantic. Darwin picked some up, but left them on the island eventually.
I do want to go to photograph wildlife there. Wish I could slot it in.
