In celebration of Disneyland's opening day on July 17, 1955, there are a number of events and special merchandise available for the 55th anniversary.
In addition to a dedication ceremony taking place Saturday afternoon, there is a special merchandise release and artist event, 55th Anniversary Mickey Ear hats, celebratory cakes and cupcakes, and even special Dooney & Bourke purses.
Here is a look at some of the new merchandise available in honor of Disneyland's 55th Anniversary.
Special 55th Anniversary Park Map
To celebrate the special 55th Anniversary, Disneyland released a uniquely designed park map available through Saturday, July 17th.
The retro map design features some classic Disneyland icons including Dumbo, the Teacups, and King Arthur's Carousel.
The vintage Dumbo attraction poster design is printed on a silver background so guests will certainly notice the special commerative cover on the Disneyland Park Map and Guide.
Disney Gallery 55th Anniversary Product Release
It was just a few months ago when the Disney Gallery debuted a new "Day One - Disneyland" exhibit with special paintings and artwork by a number of talented Disney artists.
On Satuday, July 17, new art pieces, sculptures, and clothing will be released in conjunction with an artist signing event taking place from 9 - 11 am. On the eve of the event, guests poured into the Disney Gallery to get a glimpse of the merchandise offerings. The most popular item? Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily's Limited Edition (LE) 1955 ceramic Popcorn!
Here is a look at some of the special pieces being released on Saturday.

Talented artists, Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily have a number of pieces being debuted during the 55th anniversary celebration, including the highly anticipated Classic Popcorn Box, Ceramic Cup, Mad Tea Party cups, and the Disney Guidebook Map plates.
Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily have been working together since 1990 as designers in the Disneyland Entertainment Art Department. Over the years, they have done everything from illustrating books to designing toys and Theme Park entertainment.
Fans might quickly recognize some of their previous designs celebrating iconic Disney attractions like The Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the 40th Anniversary of the Haunted Mansion in 2009.

55 unique Vinylmation designs by Noah to be released for

Noah is another very talented artist who is debuting several special pieces in celebration of Disneyland's 55th Anniversary. Noah has done some incredible work for the Disneyland Resort, including his one-of-a-kind Vinylmation creations.
For the 55th Anniversary, Noah did a special "Service with a Smile for 55 Ears" painting and 55 individually hand-painted Vinylmation figures that are a throwback to 50's racing. Each of the 55 Vinylmation figures will be packaged in a uniquely painted lunchbox and velvet bag and will retail for $595 each.

Marie Osmand released a 55th Anniversary doll on July 15th that is only available online, while supplies last. The hand-crafted doll was sculpted by Sonja Bryer and is hand numbered and signed by Marie Osmand on the neck.
The "Disneyland Park 55th Anniversary - Disneyland Rose Tiny Tot" retails for $55, plus shipping and applicable sales tax, limit 2 per guest. She is approximately 6" tall when seated. To order, please click on the Disney Now link.

Artistan Watch release for July 17, 2010, $250.

Beginning Saturday, July 17, the Fortuosity Shop will debut the first in a series of five limited edition Artisan watches that celebrate Disneyland's 55th Anniversary.
The first watch will feature Mickey Mouse as he pops through a stage door and into the world of Disney and is designed by June Valentine-Ruppe. Mickey will be surrounded by a number of classic Disney iconic elements, including Pirates of the Caribbean, Main Street Electrial Parade, Small World, Haunted Mansion, the Sumbarine Voyage, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Maleficent, and Sleeping Beauty's Castle.
Each watch will debut on the 17th of the month and be available through December 31, 2010. The watches retail for $250, plus tax, and will come with a copy of the original artwork and certificate of authenticity.
Dooney & Bourke Disneyland 55th Collection

Even Dooney & Bourke is releasing a special collection of handbags in celebration of Disneyland's 55th Anniversary. In conjunction with the release of the collection, a special event will take place Saturday afternoon.
On July 17th from 2 - 4pm at the Disney Vault 28 in the Downtown Disney District, guests can meet Ian Ray of Dooney & Bourke.
The bags will showcase iconic images from various silhouettes of Mickey through the years, along with Micky Mouse Club I.D. cards, ticket media, and phrases synonomous with "The Happiest Place on Earth."
The bags will be available at the 10 am shop opening and retail as follows: large wristlet ($70), letter carrier ($155) small messenger ($255), and medium tote ($270). A gift with purchase (GWP) will be distributed between 2 - 4pm for guests who purchased $150 or more in Dooney & Bourke merchandise on July 17, while supplies last. 55 Years of Magic Hat available from July 18 - July 30.

Two different designs of the Mickey Mouse ear hat will be available for the anniversary celebration. Available on the 17th only, the first design will feature "D55th - July 17, 2010" embroidered design. From July 18 - July 30, or while supplies last, the "55 Years of Magic" ear hat will be available.
Each of the hats retail for $21.95 each, plus tax, and premium embroidery hat prices apply. Limit five embroidered hats per guest.
Both hats will be available at select locations in the park including Main Street Mad Hatter, Fantasyland Mad Hatter, Gag Factory, Star Trader, World of Disney, and Greetings from California.
On July 25, guests can go to D Street in Downtown Disney and partake in a special Vinylmation signing with Disney Design Group artists Thomas Scott, Eric Caszatt, and Lin Shih. The signing will take place from 1-4pm. For more information on Vinylmation figures, see Vinylmation.com.
