London - Police in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, say they are investigating the death of Stuart Donnelly who became a millionaire in Britain's lottery when he was 17.

Donnelly now 29-years-old, was found dead at his home in Castle Douglas in southwest Scotland earlier this week.

It was in November, 1997, when Donnelly won almost $1.2 million at the time and gained a lot of media attention for being one of Britain’s youngest lottery winners.

Generous with the money, Donnelly spent the money on homes for himself and his parents. He also and gave money to a Scottish hospital where his brother was being treated for a genetic disease.

However it was in 2003 during a media interview when Donnelly spoke about feeling the pressure of the media attention. He said that reporters had camped outside his house, and that put a huge strain on him and his family.

Police said a post-mortem will be performed but Donnelly's death is not suspicious.
