Erin Andrew is a sports reporter on ESPN. Besides being a good reporter, she is also attractive in appearance.
Part of her job requires her to travel and stay in hotel rooms. While doing her job, she was videotaped through the peephole of her hotel room door by some low-life scumbag while she was fixing her hair…sans clothing.
Then, this low-life posted the peephole video on the internet. It spread like wildfire. ESPN and Erin Andrew’s legal counsel have taken action, because they do not want the video seen, but it is “Googles” number one searched item this morning.
Erin’s attorney released the following statement: “While alone in the privacy of her hotel room, Erin Andrews was surreptitiously videotaped without her knowledge of consent. She was a victim of a crime and is taking action to protect herself and help ensure others are not similarly violated in the future. We request respect of Erin’s privacy at this time, while she and her representatives are working with the authorities.”
Who is “guilty”? Everyone who is about to google, or has already watched, the video. Sure, the inconsiderate putz that filmed it and released it needs to suffer to the fullest extent of the law, but he wouldn’t have done so without an audience.
The sex industry is the term given to the industry commercial enterprises which employ sex workers in various capacities, generally relating to what is described as “adult entertainment” which includes erotica, as it comprises a number of forms of entertainment not considered suitable for children. Why isn’t it suitable for children? Because, it’s “BAD”. It’s “WRONG”. It’s “DIRTY”.
And last year, the United States sex industry earned $13 BILLION and has been credited with creating new technologies to help spreading it’s products to consumers: Home video, DVD, pay-per-view, live streaming, and video on demand all came from the hub of the sex industry in Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley.
Types of “adult” businesses: Adult films, Internet, and Adult Service providers
The growth in sex tourism has led to a corresponding growth in the sex industry in some countries. Illegal sex tourism with under-age children has become a notorious problem in poorer Third World countries in places like the Caribbean and South East Asia. Legal (above the age of consent) and consensual sex industries make a significant contribution to the local economies of some urban centers.
You want in on a top Adult Entertainment Company? That’s your business. The top ranked are: Vivid Entertainment Group, FriendFinder Networks, Playboy Enterprises, Club Jenna, LFP, Rick’s Cabaret, etc. Go downtown, you’ll find them.
But, when those businesses begin to harm/involve children, the unwilling, the unsuspecting, and invasion of privacy....we need to make more than a stand. They need to be STOPPED.
In the meantime, what you do in the privacy of your home or workplace is your business.
What Erin Andrews does in the privacy of her hotel room should be hers.

Leave the woman alone. A naked body, big freakin' deal. I haven't seen the video, don't even want to see the video. What could be so interesting about watching some woman fix her hair in a hotel room? If you ask me, the fact that she and her lawyer have made a public issue of is creating more interest in it than if they had quietly worked behind the scenes to withdraw the video and prosecute the individuals involved in taping and distributing it. It has apparently become a 'hot search'... and I doubt 99% of the people searching would've even known about it had she and her lawyer not turned it into headline news. That said, she is not to blame that it was made in the first place, she has every right to be outraged, and I hope she seeks every possible avenue available to prosecute these thugs... jail, monetary damages, whatever! No little slap on the wrist for these low-lifes.
interesting that your commentary doesn;t match your choice of photo to accompany the article. You could have chosen a professional headshot, but instead you chose the type of picture that the "low-lifes" (as you called them) probably appreciates most. Way to stay classy Mr. Hamilton.
How do YOU know what is on the video if you didn't WATCH it? Or does watching it for "professional" purposes exempt you?
On a sidenote, it is really creepy to film people without their knowledge. Just a run of the mill nasty ol' Peepin Tom.
WOW! Terrific feedback!!
First~ sorry to let you know that I did NOT watch the video. Nor will I. That was the point of this article. I know what was on the video due to a related story and the press release.
Second ~ the accompanying picture was chosen because it is NOT a headshot that was created for a press release. It was a paparazzi photo taken of Ms. Andrews while at work for ESPN. That was also the point of my article. Even THAT kind of photo should not be published without consent....although....right now, it is allowed. I used that photo, instead of a headshot, to further my point.
Finally...I doubt that Ms. Andrews and her attorney turned this incident into a headline. A $13 billion adult entertainment industry turned it into a headline. The supporters of that industry will keep the video going until Ms. Andrews and her legal counsel can get it stopped.
Thank you all for commenting!
wow... how do I even begin to put down this piece of crap reporting. First of all, the adult industry does NOT have anything to do with what happened with Mrs Andrews, so thank you for taking advantage of this situation and letting us know what YOU think of something totally unrelated.
Yes the guy that did this is a pig for invading her privacy, how the hell would you know hes somebody even remotely associated with the adult industry for you to go off on them in such manner. Not only that, but to actually somehow manage to make this article about the adult industry.
This article should concentrate on the issue at hand which is the invasion of privacy of Mrs Andrews.
Also, what is the deal with the picture that you selected for the article? obviously you were staring at her massive boobs in the picture if thats what you decide to post when there are so many headshots of her out there that actually do her justice. Oh wait a minute, this picture must have been taken by one of th
Oh wait a minute, this picture must have been taken by one of those low-lifes in the adult industry. Yeah, lets blame them. Lets blame the adult producers and the adult industry for everything that goes wrong with this country while we are at it.
As a reporter you totally missed the point and try to associate what happened to Mrs Andrews with the adult industry. It doesnt make sense and it doesnt belong, but Im sure you will be the next person to be caught with a hooker just like all those right-wing politicians that cheat, lie and steal.
Just in case you are wondering, yes I saw the damn video, big freaking deal. Why did I watch it? because everybody is making such a loud noise about a naked woman, that I had to go see. Till today, I had no freaking clue who Erin Andrews was if it wasnt for the news. No, I dont watch ESPN and Im not into sport at all, so I didnt know who she was.

And yes, I am a director and producer right here in NJ of what you call BAD, WRONG and DIRTY adult entertainment industry. Keep your opinions to yourself and concentrate on the article at hand. When you have to write an article about the adult industry, then you can let us know what you think instead of shoving it in an article that is unrelated.
JupaMan: Thanks for your comments! It's feedback like yours that keep me on track.
I agree she should have her privacy. Nevertheless, being a celebrity makes her a public figurer. She is responsible for her own actions; if her actions while in public were seen as lewd and lascivious in nature. Then she also must expect to attract aberrant behavior from unwanted individuals who in this case were looking to make money off her behavior.
