Bradley Freedman, CEO of Columbia, MD-based Deepdive Talent Solutions, offers his 2009 resolutions. Deepdive s a full-service, end-to-end provider of outsourced recruitment services to small and medium-sized corporate clients.
Listen more; talk less – It’s impossible to add new skills, or even learn new things, if you’re the one doing all the talking.
Maintain a long-term perspective – Fixating on all of the near-term unpleasantness will only serve to undermine your ability to achieve your long-term objectives. At Deepdive, we are fortunate to have great stakeholders; the current economic turbulence will only make us a stronger organization.
Ensure that our “glass” is always half-full- In 2009, a concerted effort will be made to celebrate our accomplishments, shrug off any setbacks, and discover the opportunities that lie within challenging situations.
We will think like Gretzky – Most people consider Wayne Gretzky the greatest hockey player of all time. Rather than attributing his accomplishments as a player to physical gifts, Mr. Gretzky once said his success was due to the fact that he skates “to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been”.
Continue to have fun – I am passionate about my job, as well as the services we provide at Deepdive Talent Solutions. There’s no other job I can imagine being as satisfying as the one I currently hold.
