As we all know, the Super Bowl is just around the corner. Sunday, February 7, 2010, at 6:25 p.m. ET, to be exact! WTHI-TV, Channel 10 will be broadcasting the big game!
For many Terre Haute residents, big plans for big parties are in the works! For anyone that is unaware of who is playing in Super Bowl XLIV(44), the teams this year are the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints.
A lot of Terre Haute's residents are super excited about the Colts making their third appearance in the Super Bowl. The main reason is because Rose Hulman's Institute of Technology, here in Terre Haute, hosts the Indianapolis Colts training camp every summer. The Colt's have been coming to Terre Haute for their training camp for 11 consecutive years!
Many local grocery stores are stocking their shelves for everything that you will need for a super Super Bowl party. Baesler's Market has Colts-designed cupcakes and cookies, cakes featuring Peyton Manning's "edible image" on them and Colts bread bears! Other local grocery stores,such as Kroger, K-Mart, and Wal-mart, will have all the blue and white food items you will need to make your party a success. And as always, they have the other things you'll need such as beer, soda, chips, dips, sandwiches, pizza's, wing's and any other snack items!
If you don't plan on staying home for the big game, you can head on down to Buffalo Wild Wings in Town South Plaza or Beef O'Brady's, located at 2309 South 3rd Street and party with the other Super Bowl fans! Mulligan's, behind the Honey Creek Mall, is having their Super Bowl party from 3 p.m. to closing. The proceeds from their party will benefit people in the Wabash Valley fighting cancer.
Haven't gotten your favorite player's jersey or Colt's T-shirt yet? J.C.Penney, at the Honey Creek Mall, is selling Colt's merchandise and Super Bowl T-shirts. Wal-mart, K-Mart, Sears and other sport's apparel clothing stores will have your Colt's shirts in stock so you can rock the "blue and white".
Just remember, whether you're throwing a Super Bowl party at your home or will be out celebrating at one of the local Sport's Bar, drink responsibly, have designated driver's and have fun!
