For the second time the President has delivered an engaging speech in front of unsuspecting millions while digesting news of the outcome of a Navy Seal special mission. This time the Navy's best was on a search and rescue assignment to bring home two hostages kidnapped by Somalian criminals.
American, Jessica Buchanan, 32 and 60 year old Dane, Poul Thisted were working for a Danish relief organization in Northern Somalia when they were kidnapped last October. The assailants were heavily armed, common criminals with no known organized militant group. www.nbcnews.com
The President Obama recieved news of the success of the mission last night just before his State of the Union Address. Cameras caught a shot of the President congratulating Leon Panetta on a job well done.
There were no military casualties and the hostages were not injured during the rescue. Nine Somalian gunmen were killed in the confrontation.
