NY Mommy Chronicles: Brooklyn Museum of Art is free to wee people under 12

Have you ever been to “Target First Saturdays” at the Brooklyn Museum of Art?
No? Oooooooo, you are in for a real treat if you NY Working Moms do decide to go. Pack your favorite stroller bag; gather your gal pals and children and head out to 200 Eastern Parkway Brooklyn, Kings County, New York 11238-6052 Tel. (718) 638-5000 for a lovely day of culture and fun.
Normally, the suggested contribution for public admission is $10 and a student with valid school identification is $6. Adults 62 and over are $6. Children under 12 and museum members are free. However, if you and the rest of your NY Working Mom gal pals venture out on the first Saturday of the month you may find yourself getting a lot of freebies (including free afternoon admission).

June 5, 2010 Brooklyn Chic Music from 5–7 p.m. Description: “Don your finest swing era threads and listen to jazz tunes performed by the Brooklyn-based J.C. Hopkins Biggish Band, featuring Champian Fulton and DeWitt Fleming Jr.”
June 5, 2010 Dance 5:30–6:30 p.m. Description: “Evidence Dance Company presents a diverse selection of works from the African diaspora. A question-and-answer session with company founder and choreographer Ronald K. Brown follows. Free tickets (330) are available at the Visitor Center at 5 p.m.”
