Many working moms are overworked, underpaid and overstressed. There simply are not enough hours in the day to get everything accomplished.   And trying to find a healthy balance between family life and work can be overwhelming.

Each week, Working Moms will feature a website of the week for busy working moms, just like you. From money-saving advice, employment opportunities and health information to the just plain fun or silly, the Working Moms Website of the Week will do the legwork for you and make your life just a bit easier.

The Working Moms Website of the Week this week is Working Naked.

Whether you have been working at home for years or are considering starting your own home-based business, Working Naked is a helpful online resource for people who work from home. The website is the brainchild of Lisa Kanarek, a busy writer, bio home office designer and mother. Lisa shares her nearly 20 years of home office experience and provides insight and helpful tips gleaned from her many clients over the years.

In an online interview, Lisa explains how she came up with the unusual name of the site, Working Naked. “I started thinking of words to describe how it feels to work from home. I thought about working alone and then the word "naked" popped into my head. I liked the double entendre and I've had fun with it ever since. Plus I like the reaction I get from people when I tell them the name.”

If you have been thinking about starting your own business but have no idea where to start, Lisa offers some great suggestions. “The best advice I can give is to do what you love and the money will come. It sounds so cliche but it's true. Life's too short to spend day after day doing something you can't stand doing. If you have a hobby or an area of expertise, research it on the web and find out what other businesses are out there.”

There are many advantages to working at home, especially in this economy. “Keep in mind that by working from home, you save on overhead and your risk is low. There are so many opportunities to work from home. Just beware of scams and promises of big money in a short amount of time. Working from home isn't for everyone but for those who don't want to commute, want more time with their family and want more control over their business life, nothing beats working from home.”

A published author, Lisa’s books include Home Office Solutions: Creating a Space that Works for You, Organizing Your Home Office for Success, Everything’s Organized and 101 Home Office Success Secrets.  Lisa has also been a guest on CNN and Good Morning America and has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Newsweek.

Whatever particular challenge you may face in your work-at-home profession, Lisa’s years of expertise will help create an office space that  is functional, efficient and reflects your particular wants and needs. Whether you work from home on a part-time or full-time basis, Working Naked  will help you become more productive and successful in your home-based career.

I've been working naked for the last 14 years. Of course I own a very popular clothing optional resort in Palm Springs called The Terra Cotta Inn where all the guests sunbathe naked too :-)

Lisa's site is very helpful for the work at home mom or dad. I liked it.
