In these hard economic times, many small businesses are struggling. If you are a small business owner and you're having a difficult time, there’s no need to be stuck in a rut! 

Office Depot recently launched Survival of the Smartest, an interactive website that provides all sorts of helpful resources, ideas and solutions for small business owners and entrepreneurs. You’ll find out how to improve your business, get advice from experts and learn how to buy green. Webisodes, desktop widgets, downloadable templates and various forms are also available on the site.

Besides providing all sorts of helpful information, Office Depot is also awarding $1 million dollars in prizes in their Adopt-a-Small Business Contest. 500 small businesses will each receive a $2000 prize package. The package includes a $1300 gift card, one year tech support and copy, print and ship services from Office Depot.

Entering the Adopt-a-Small Business Contest is simple. Just create and upload an original, two-minute video that summarizes how your company is handling the economic downturn. The videos will be judged on originality, creativity, most compelling and how Office Depot has helped your business. The contest ends July 31, 2009.

Adopt-a-Small Business Contest Rules:

• In order to be eligible, the business must have 99 employees or less
• Entrants cannot be affiliated with Office Depot in any way
• You can use a cell phone, video camera or webcam to create the video
• File size should be at or under 100 MB
• Videos must be in a MPEG, MOV, AVI or WMV format
• No purchase is necessary
• A sample video is available online
• You can enter up to five videos
