Easy chocolate trifle
Don’t you just love it when you are invited to a party or get-together and are asked to bring something at the last minute? Of course, this always occurs when you are working late the night before which makes it hard to try to cook or bake something special. So instead of bringing that boring veggie platter that you pick up at the supermarket, here is a wonderful recipe that I found on allrecipes.com. It is super easy and sure to make a hit. Every time I have made it for picnics, work parties, and other social gatherings, I have gotten raves about it. It is usually gone in minutes!
Chocolate Trifle
PREP TIME 30 Min
COOK TIME 25 Min
READY IN 8 Hrs 55 Min
Ingredients:
• 1 (19.8 ounce) package brownie mix
• 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
• 1/2 cup water
• 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
• 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
• ½ bag of heath bar crumbles
Directions:
1. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions and cool completely. Cut into 1 inch squares.
2. In a large bowl, combine pudding mix, water and sweetened condensed milk. Mix until smooth, then fold in 8 ounces whipped topping until no streaks remain.
3. In a trifle bowl or glass serving dish, place half of the brownies, half of the pudding mixture and half of the 12 ounce container of whipped topping. Repeat layers. Sprinkle heath crumbles onto top layer for garnish. Refrigerate 8 hours before serving.
Feel free to make changes to this recipe. In the past, I have changed the flavor of pudding to butterscotch which was also very good. This recipe is very versatile and easy to make so change the brownie mix to devil’s food cake or the heath bars to chocolate chips if you feel the urge. Most of all: enjoy!
