Work life balance number one requested topic for Cincinnati businesswomen

Diane Long, Program Manager for Women Excel (WE),opened the WE Share event on work life balance by announcing that work life balance was the number one requested topic.  That announcement, coupled with the full room at the Cintas Center,  was no surprise for many of the Cincinnati businesswomen in attendance.

"You can have it all just not at the same time.  It is about having choices”, was a quote from President & CEO of Cincinnati Regional Chamber , Ellen Van der Horst that was shared at the event.  Women sharing ideas and experiences about their challenges, as well as ideas that work, were some of the content shared in the small group format at WE Share.

One of the attendees, Annmarie Thurnquist, Preconstruction Manager at Danis Building Construction Company, shared an inside tip from a favorite aunt who was quite often successfully involved in many things.  When Annmarie asked her aunt, “How do you do all this?”  The aunt simply replied, “I have a really dirty house.”

Women Excel is a program developed for women, by women.  Sherri Gramann, VP, Sr. Relationship Manager at Key Bank and Helena Darrow, Partner Dinsmore & Shohl LLP represented sponsors of the September 17th event.

I really like her answer "I have a really dirty house." When my kids were young, I didn't like having a dirty house so I hired a service to clean. But my answer to 'how do you do all this" was "I don't cook or watch tv." She's right. It's all about CHOICES!
