Working Families, the UK’s leading work life balance organization, marked their 30th anniversary with recognizing top employers for working families. The family-friendly organizations on the list have a reputation for helping to change the outcome for employees in the area of childcare, employee support and wellbeing.
One of the winners the Britannia Building Society increased work life balance satisfaction from 52% to 92% by engaging employees who were dissatisfied with work life balance to design the new policy.
Accenture employer of over 10,000 employees increased the number of women returning after maternity leave from 70% to 90% by making major changes in the organization’s maternity leave benefit. Each expecting employee has a buddy with a plan for keeping in touch and the opportunity to work for up to 10 days on key projects, workshops and a breastfeeding facility. Each employee on maternity leave receives 9 months full pay.
The winners were selected by exemplifying leadership in one or more of the following areas: flexible working, childcare provision, maternity and/or paternity policy and/or elder care.
