Komen for the the cure®, Smashbox, and Diane von Furstenberg present the Eighth Annual Fashion for the Cure® Inspirational Runway Show! That is one fashionable mouth full of karma, huh?
It’s amazing how eight years ago a small idea thought up by one caring Susan G. Komen Foundation volunteer with a love for fashion, a pride in Los Angeles and a passion for breast cancer advocacy, turns into the hottest events in LA! Fashion for the Cure® is the event of all events! An evening of honoring survivors, recognizing local researchers, a mouthwatering silent auction and a chic runway show! You can’t get more fabulous than that. And it’s exclusive to Los Angeles! Take that New York! *wink wink*
With a goal of educating women beyond the boundaries of socio-economic levels, race, culture and age, there couldn’t be a theme more perfect than this years. Inspiration. We all need to get inspired! Inspired to save our lives, the lives of our neighbors, and the lives of strangers. Breast cancer, out of all the cancers has the highest rate of survival with 98% percent of women (and men) survivors having early detection. (This includes my courageous Mom!) And we must support the cause! We can save lives! And really, there is nothing more fashionable than that.
Well it is only fitting that the iconic Diane von Furstenberg share in this years Fashion for a Cure® event. With breast cancer knowing no boundaries of women it can affect, Diane too knows no boundaries with her fashion. From teenagers to professionals, to moms, to movie stars, Diane von Furstenberg is a household name. Her collections are timeless, fabulous, flirty, sophisticated and always with a celebration of women in mind. And lucky us, she will be sending down the Fashion for the Cure® runway, cancer surivivors, as well as affected models in her Resort/Pre-Spring 2009/10 collection. And in collaboration with Smashbox Cosmetics they will be making each women even more beautiful with their makeup artistry!
So, get out your calendar and save the date, September 24, 2009 for the Eighth Annual Fashion for the Cure® Inspirational Runway Show! I say this alot but I’ve never meant this more than I do now.
