The female race car driver, Danica Patrick placed sixth in her stock-car debut during Saturday's ARCA race at Daytona International Speedway after getting bumped off track late in the race (see the video below).
As one of the most successful female drivers in auto racing ever, expectations were accordingly high for Patrick's performance in Daytona last weekend. She did manage to stay in the top ten for most of her first stock car race, but got bumped into the grass with only 56 seconds to go.
After building an impressive racing resume that includes winning the Indy Japan 300 in 2008 and placing third at the Indianapolis 500 last year Patrick is tackling the NASCAR Nationwide series for the first time this year in her #7 GoDaddy.com Honda/Dallara for Andretti Autosport.
Being a trailblazer is nothing new to Patrick, however, as her list of 'firsts' in the car racing sport is ever-growing and includes being the first woman to win an Indy car race and achieving the highest finish by a female driver in the history of the Indianapolis 500.
Patrick is expected to race at the Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway next weekend, according to ESPN.
