Miami wins in Tennessee

The Miami Redhawks added another win to their season after winning their first match at the Lady Govs Invitational. The team beat Chatanooga 2-1 yesterday evening. Brooke Livingston and Kayla Zakrzewski scored the goals for the Redhawks.

Miami started the first half strong. Zakrzewski scored the Redhawks' first goal in the first four minutes of the match. She was assisted by Jess Kodiak. The team's defense held Chatanooga scoreless for the first half.

The second half got more interesting. Chatanooga finally found the back of the net late in the second half. 39 seconds proved to be the end for Chatanooga though. Miami scored again to give the team a 2-1 lead. Livingston scored the winning goal for Miami. Kodiak also assisted this goal as well.

Miami took 13 shots in the first half while Chatanooga only got off one shot.

"We scored early and everybody thought it's going to be Alabama A&M again," said head coach Bobby Kramig to Redhawks media. "The team didn't get too frustrated though and they didn't lose their composure. I don't think there was a flicker of disbelief that we wouldn't win the game."

The Redhawks will play Western Illinois on Sunday at 12pm.
