I've never read the Twilight books but move over Cullens! Make room on the shelf for the Tremaines or at the very least for Luna. Luna Tremaine is 15 years old and the vampire at the center of the latest 4-part, teen vampire fantasy called Soulstice: Luna's Dream. This teen loves being a vampire and she seems to be as close to being a Christian vampire as a vampire can get. Does that make sense? She wears crosses and goes to churches. All of that is very new and strange to followers of vampire lore.
In her world the entire history of the vampire is recounted orally. Nothing is ever written down all in the name of safety. Every vampire knows their history and the 'code.' They hate werewolves too. Vamps are not to fraternize or fall in love with humans. Of course Luna ignores that 'code' and falls hard for 16 year old, human, football player, Paul James. This causes big trouble and delicious scenarios. Some of my favorite scenes involve the 'Killer Bees.' They are a group of vampire cheerleaders from upper level vamp families who live to torment. And torment they do.
A movie of the same title comes out this July starring Keana Texeira as Luna. This teen singing sensation is also the co-author of the book along with Lance Dow. This series has about the same length and scope as the Harry Potter books. Many tie-ins have been planned. A soundtrack, clothing line and jewelry wait in the wings.
So while you wallow in the Cullens on June 30th, take some time out in July to peek at the Tremaines. While you wait, read book one of Soulstice: Luna's Dream.

The co-author is the star of the movie?? that seems a little too autobiographical. good review but not thanks!
