Where can you take your child and her friends to a party where they can dress up AND get their hair styled?  Adventure Cuts!  Adventure Cuts is not just southern California's most cutting-edge salon, it's also a top place for parties, with fun themes like Diva and Rock Star Parties, Fairy Fantasy Parties, Manicure/Pedicure Spa Parties, Pirate Parties and even Sci-Fi shindigs.

Adventure Cuts was inspired by a hair-raising experience by co-owner Paris Heffner Bissat.  “Getting my son’s haircut hasn’t always been easy,” she admits. “He would cry whenever someone tried to cut his hair. We went from salon to salon hoping for a good experience.”

Then one hair stylist did something that none of the others had tried.  “When my son was crying, the stylist gave him a hand-held game which distracted him long enough to get a haircut,” Paris says. That’s when the light bulb went off in her head and Paris and her sister, Bridget Heffner Brielmaier, decided to create Adventure Cuts, a truly cutting edge salon for families.

Adventure Cuts, located in Carlsbad, is more than just a salon where kids can have their hair cut, it's a salon with painted murals on the walls and whimsically-themed styling stations.  There are flat screen TVs, toys, video games, costumes, gifts and goodies to help children feel comfortable the minute they walk in the door.

Unlike other salons, there is a theme party element at Adventure Cuts. Since Paris and Bridget love throwing parties, they’ve added a party room for kiddie parties with fun themes like Diva and Rock Star Parties, Fairy Fantasy Parties, Manicure/Pedicure Spa Parties and Pirate Parties.  You can have your hair styled, get dressed up in a costume and throw a party.  Whether you want the Fairy Fantasy Party where you have your hair put in an up-do and sprinkled with fairy dust, or the Rock Star Party where you get glamorized and strut your stuff down the runway filled with paparazzi, it's up to you.

All this creativity means nothing, though, if the haircuts aren't a cut above the competition and Paris and Bridget are happy with the response. "The best compliment we get is when parents come in on their own -- without the kids -- to get their own hair cut!" Bridget says.

"We love people, especially kids, and there is no better feeling than seeing the faces of adults and kids light up when they first see the salon--except for, perhaps, the praise they give us when they see the quality of our services."
