Sponsor a Charity and help your business

Sometimes because we are working on our business, trying to make a buck, we forget about doing something for free for a good cause.  Donations to charities have decreased along with everything else as most people have had to choose between donating or making a house payment.  For your own small business it probably is the same.  You are trying to keep the business going and donating to a charity seems impossible right now, but there are other ways that you can bring a charity into your fold.

Instead of donating to various charities, let your business become a sponsor of a charity.   Just having an existence on the internet gives you the opportunity to let others know about what you care about.  It gives a personal touch to your business that turns a cold home page into a warm and personable one.

There are many ways that you can combine your charity with your business.  You can donate proceeds of your sold item to your chosen charity, or you can create a product that represents and let's others know about the charity or you can do large fundraisers.

For example, Ralph Rubio, famous for the Rubio fish taco, has a whole page dedicated to causes that he supports and encourages others to support, also. He organizes Beach clean-up days, sponsors Rady Children's Hospital, and hosts Bloodmobiles in Rubio's parking lots.  Currently he is part of the All-American Moment Campaign and has cut-out figures in the restaurants where you can get your picture taken and posted on the website.  Rubio's donates 25 cents for every picture that you send in to them and in turn they post the picture on their website and Facebook page.

Or maybe you have noticed that there are a lot of "D" list celebriies that are appearing on reality t.v. and playing for their charities.  They are giving of themselves for their charity but they are also benefiting from it by getting their name out there and gaining fans.

Think of all the possibilities to have your business give to charity.  Whether it is a simple "Donate Button" to your favorite charity on your website, or a full fledge fundraising dinner you can help your business and help your charity at the same time.  Take the opportunity to think outside the box and create a winning campaign for your charity.

Your business can do the same and you have create a win-win situation for both your charity and yourself.  Start now and plan your charity event and turn it into an annual event.
