If you are one of many that have been affected by the Great Recession and have been laid off, Microsoft wants to help you.
As part of the Elevate America effort, Microsoft is providing 1 million vouchers to states for no-cost access to Microsoft E-Learning courses and select Microsoft Certification exams.
Starting April 13th, 2009, the first vouchers will be giving out at the Washington WorkSource job centers across Washington.
Although you may already know a lot about computers and don't think you need the training, remember most companies are looking for people who have professional training and certification.
The voucher will allow you to receive free training for basic computer classes to intermediate classes, like Excel and Power-Point and they are not only for the unemployed. Entreprenuers, students and people that are currently working can get free training, too.
To learn more go the ElevateAmerica website and the Microsoft Website to find out when the ELEVATE program will be coming to your state. You can also follow updates on Twitter.

This is valuable news for those looking for jobs. I represent Certiport, the company that administers the training. They have a long history of administering certification exams, and have found certified individuals earn 12 percent more in the same job roles, and convert form temp jobs to full-time employment 20 percent more often than non-certified individuals. Go to Certiport.com for more information.
Great information to share. Thanks!
