Eliminating stress at work


Don't let stress get the best of you!

No matter what you do for work you will do a better job if you are not stressed.  Stress can harm you not only emotionally but physically too.  It's important to not let stress get the best of you.  One of the best and easiest ways to eliminate stress is to take mini breaks throughout the work day.  Here are some ways you can do just that!

Set a timer!  You should set a timer to go off every hour.  When the timer rings take a quick 2 minute break. Get up and stretch. Go get some water. Step outside for some fresh air. Or just sit back, close your eyes and relax! It's amazing how good you will feel after a quick 2 minute break!  That's all you really need to get rejuvenated.

Get others involved!  If you work with other people get everyone involved. When your timer rings encourage everyone to get up and stretch or to walk up and down the hallway or to just laugh out loud for no reason. If your boss does not approve, explain that it will be better for everyone in the long run if you can all take a quick break every hour. And get the boss involved too!

Go out for lunch!  Even if you pack your lunch go somewhere else to eat it.  Leave the workplace.  Eat on a park bench or even in your car.  Just get out and away from your computer and phone.  Listen to music while you eat or read a magazine.  Just get your mind off work and when you go back to work after your break you will feel refreshed!
