Some time back this writer published an article entitled “Eight years in Afghanistan! Our soldiers are still dying in war!” This is the original article published at

http://www.examiner.com/x-7462-Atlanta-Faith--Family-Examiner~y2009m10d20-America-is-still-at-war-The-death-of-nine-soldiers-in-one-battle-proves-it

Today I got this comment from Debbie, a mother of a soldier in Afghanistan, asking me to do what I could to help her.

Entry: President Obama: Eight years in Afghanistan! Our soldiers are still dying in war!
Posted/Updated: 11/13/2009 01:07 PM

Debbie - MY name is Debbie and my son is a member in the 5th Stryker Brigade 1-17 ID fighting in Afghanistan. I can't just sit here any longer while the extra troops they need are being pushed on the back burner. I created a YouTube video and I hope you can help by watching it and passing it along. We need to keep our Soldiers in the forefront and I don't know how else to help them. Please help me and view this video immediately and pass it on. This comes straight from the heart of the mother of an American Soldier. YouTube Video Mr. Obama Our Troops Are Dying.  Please honor this mother's request.

http://video.aol.com/video-detail/mr-obama-our-troops-are-dying/395725900

Below is the sad reminder of what families here in Atlanta, every small town in Georgia, and all across our nation are going through. This video will tear your heart out. If not, perhaps you should see your cardiologist to see if it is still there. They don’t ask for any special favors just that their soldiers have the benefit of the most powerful, rich, and benevolent nation in the world to keep their sons and daughters alive while fighting for America’s freedom and that of those oppressed who desire Democracy.

Read the first article. Watch this video if you can stay in your chair long enough; and then pray for the families of those listed below. These soldiers not only belong to their families and Georgia; but to America and now to eternity.

Woman to Woman:

Doing as Debbie requested – I could do no less – please contact your senators and tell them they must get President Obama to lay aside politics and listen to the Generals in the field and protect our soldiers until they can all come home. What is our government coming to when they cannot even protect our soldiers on their own soil in one of the biggest military bases in the world; and refuse to either bring our soldiers home – or send enough troops to get the job done with honor and victory for America and the Afghan peoples?

Contact the President, the Vice-President, Senators and Representatives and enter the plea for this mother – a plea for all mothers – a plea for America. We the people of the United States must take a stand for our nation and for our soldiers and for our children of all ages.

http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml   Send them this link. Let this mother speak to them from her heart and for all soldiers and their families.

While these are from Georgia, you can find the names of the fallen soldiers in your state with a little research. These soldiers not only belong to their families and Georgia; but to America and now to eternity.

“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (And his country)” John 15:13

You can go to the above site and click on the town and you can see the names of the soldeirs, how, and when they died.

I am Debbie's husband. I want to thank you for helping us to get this video out where people can see it. I know we share the same feelings of many parents who have children serving in the military. We know their job is dangerous, so we want our president to give them every chance for security and success.

Our son and his brave friends haven't mentioned giving up - they just want to support they need to conduct their missions in a more controlled environment. Mr. Obama needs to take decisive action NOW, instead of looking for reasons not to support these young men and women who daily risk their lives in service to this awesome country!

Again, thanks for your help in getting this video viewed.

Michael: I don't know where you guys live and I have to write on topic and in association with Atlanta. ButI have readers all over the world, all across America and in about 8 or 9 foreign countries. I just sent 25 e-mails to people associated with Soldier's Angels asking for their help in getting this message out.I have been writing to soldiers since I was 3 years old when my Dad went away during World War II-I am now 68 and have 12 grandchildren and I want to see our country return to its former greatest with love of God, family, and country a priority for us all.I can't understand people living in this abundance of good gifts from God and still a measure of freedom and bashing our country. Please when you write to you son, tell him I care.I pray for them always and have come to know so many soldiers through writing to 1,l50 individual soldiers in about 2 years.I have a sweet friend of my grandson's over there and they deserve all we in America can give them.Give you son my love.

If I were Obama and watched that video, I would have been wholeheartedly persuaded--to leave Afghanistan immediately. I know it's hard for the US powers to give up control of the opium fields, but it's one of those hard choices we sometimes have to make.

This woman's son only thinks he's fighting for democracy; that's always how the elite tricks other people's kids into fighting for the elite's economic interests. I wouldn't want my kid dying for Halliburton either.

Blaming Obama for not immediatelly committing troops is misguided and lame. The argument is pathetic (based on appeals to pathos). but it is painfully short on logic.

Socrates: Real name? Your first sentence says it all.He should either send enough men and women to do the job; or bring those who are over there home.We are in this thing to either win-or pull out-could you put up a little truth in the USA wanting control of the opium fields? And if that is so, isn't Obama, the one in charge now?You degrade this soldier by saying what he thinks when you don't even know who he is. He joined, volunteered-he was not forced to go; and perhaps he knows a little bit more of why he is there than we do. When you talk about elitists and their economical interests-who do you think pays the bills for hundreds of thousand of employees-not a "tater" farmer. If we don't blame Obama-who should we blame - it is his generals and military staff who asked for the troops and thus far he has said no - so who do we pass the buck to? Are you a parent?Do you have a child who is being shot at? And you have the gall to call this mother's plea pathetic? I call it love.
