Pavelec and Wolves slam Bruins 6-0

Tonight's game was nothing short of awesome to say the least. Though the guys are still not passing less and shooting more, you would have never known the difference after seeing the final score.

After booming out with three unanswered goals in the first, the Wolves seemed untouchable. The atmosphere in Allstate was electric, no matter the actual attendance, the respect and admiration for Ondrej Pavelec seemed to grow with each passing minute. After receiving yet another standing ovation from a roaring crowd during the pregame show, you could not mistake the love and admiration the fans feel for him. Each penalty kill and scoreless period for the Bruins thanks to Pavelec enabled everyone to loosen up a little more each time he stopped a shot searching for the back of his net.

By the end of a scoreless second, the crowd was still pumped up but in need of a little pick-up. Sure, the t-shirt toss and hungry, hungry hump day contest were great, but what we were really aiming for was more goals.

As of lately the team has been building up a dominating reputation that is beginning to be comparable to that of the one last year's team had. The penalty goals for the team are picking up, while the ones against them are slowly winding down smaller and smaller.

With nothing to lose, the team went into the third period with their heads held high just hoping for a win with what they had already put up on the board. Not only did they get their win, but they also added three more unanswered goals to finish out the game with a final score of six to nothing! Every person in the crowd was on their feet for the last twenty seconds of the game, showing the team some much deserved respect.

When it came time to announce the three stars of the game, there was no doubt in anybody's mind as to who would be number one. Everyone cheered and tipped their hats, so to say, to a man who has fallen into the hearts of all Wolves fans, Mr. Ondrej Pavelec.

Already clinching his second shut-out this early in the season, Pavelec is definitely a deal breaker for any team thinking a game against the Wolves will be anything but easy. With him on the team along with all of the budding players I am confident in saying this year the Wolves have what it takes to make it into the playoffs fairly easy and maybe even clinch the division once again.

Only time will tell, so for now it can only go game-by-game. The Wolves will be in Iowa facing the newly formed Iowa Chops, who are currently tied for third in the division with Houston, while the Wolves are two points from rival Ice Hogs for first place, at least for now.

On another note, congrats to Sean, the Chicago Bears Examiner, who slammed his rib eating competition in the hungry, hungry hump day competition with 20 ribs eaten in five minutes!
