Halloween offered no treat for Wolves

The Wolves gave it their all, but after making it a 1-1 game early in the second, were unable to answer a goal by Iowa in the third. Normally I would ramble on about how the team could have played better, but I really do think they did great. Sure one point victories are still wins, but it is by none other than great playing and goal-tending that you can hold a team to just a one point win no matter the situation.

To me, that shows them that they are pretty well matched, at least for now, as far as playing goes. What does that mean? Well, simply put, the Wolves just have to find Iowa's weakness and give it everything they have. Whether it be a slow goaltender, a defense-man who doesn't always quite cover the net or players as he should, or something as simple as knowing how well a breakaway will hold against them.

There are a million ways to improve in order to score in hockey, the only trick is finding which ones work against which opponents. I am in no way worried about them being able to do that seeing all the progress they have made already this season. They went from having no victories in the preseason only to get off the regular season on a bad angle with two straight losses, to being able to beat some great teams.

This weekend will be a three day shift for the Wolves who are in Iowa tonight and tomorrow night before coming back home on Sunday to Allstate Arena to play Syracuse.

Hopefully tomorrow will offer a different outcome against Iowa now that they have had the chance to play them and get a feel for their style of play. You can see the game on Comcast channel 100 at 7 P.M.
