The recently formed Piedmont Wine Trail along with Maryland Wineries Association will hold their first event on July 31st and August 1st. The “Piedmont Wine Trail Goes Local” will take place at seven wineries from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm both days. Participating wineries will feature different items from the local community.
Basignani Winery will pair their wines with beef and bison from Gunpowder Bison and Roseda Beef. Boordy Vineyards will have an arugula sun-dried tomato and basil pesto from Paola’s Pesto to pair with Boordy wines. DeJon Vineyards will have Native American jewelry and Pottery on hand for visitors to explore. Fiore Winery will offer cheese samples from Hawks Hill Creamery to pair with their wines. Harford Vineyard and Winery will offer baked goods from Kathy’s Sugar and Spice. At Mount Felix Vineyard and Estate Winery, sample cheese and fruit plates from MacGregor’s Restaurant. While at Woodhall Wine Cellars sample some CSA farmed items used by Patricia Della Casual Fine Dining.
There is no charge for this wine trail event, however some wineries will charge their normal tasting fees. The wineries that make up the Piedmont Wine Trail are located in Baltimore and Harford counties.
