I know the drill, journalism 101: never write in the first person. Throwing caution to the wind, I'd like to share a wine experience, one that I thought would never happen. Summing it up- I finally found a decent Pinot Grigio!
I've pretty much always despised the grape, I find Pinot Grigios watered down and weak, with an unappealing, brassy taste as well. But keeping an open mind and a dinner invitation with friends, I went out on a limb and gave the grape one more sporting chance. On the menu was fresh mahi from the fishing tournament the day before; along with basmati rice and fresh steamed veggies.
Anyway, I trust these folks to bring out a better-than-average wine with whatever they may be serving that night. And they never disappoint, this is where I had Seghesio Zinfandel, 2007 last week, a Spectator top-10 award winner.
OK, back to last night's wine. Pinot Grigios--as I stated above--are FAR from my favorite wine. But we sampled a Pighin last night, I don't recall the vintage or much else about it except for how delicious this wine was. This is from the province of Friuli-Venezia-Guili. Their site's descption-
| Peachy stone fruit flavors mark this delicately expressive wine which shows classic floral and hazelnut nuances, a clean, silky texture and a fine, crisp finish which confirms the palate. |
This wine went beautifully with the meal and though I can't go as far as saying I have a new found favorite, at least I have a new found respect for a wine I'd never given much credit. The bottle should run you around $15.- $16. a bottle. And it's worth every dime.

You have some wacky formatting, especially that long, skinny first paragraph. Maybe because the photo is so large?
