Beer summit? Give us a break! When I read that in the news the first thing I thought was, “you have got to be kidding.” This isn’t any “beer summit.”
I was all set to declare this meeting and beverage of choice a total failure and misguided in its inception. But then I read where President Obama was not the one who uttered the phrase “beer summit.” It was of course, “the press.” And as we have all come to learn, they are kind of like, idiots. I mean here’s this meeting, and the press decides to ignore the real substance of the issue, and print a headline like, Obama hopes beer summit defuses dispute.
Ok. Not really wanting to delve into politics, let’s move swiftly to the substance of this article. What idiots, beer summit? Sorry. That just kind of slipped out.
But think about it, if he really wanted to do this right, he should have never told the press about the meeting. He could have just invited these two guys, got them there, and then, “done his thing.” And he should have served wine!
That’s really all I wanted to say. Here you have two educated guys and the proper thing to do would have been to honor them both with a glass of wine. A nice glass of fine wine, is that so hard? Wine. That’s all I wanted to say. Really. Wine.
