The author sets up straw men and knocks them down, proving that he prefers intellectual dishonesty to open discourse. Typical of the breed.

I only read the paragraph on Obama's citizenship, but it is full of lies.

Do some homework, Mr. Nelson. The State of Hawaii has updated its web site to make it abundantly clear that your statements are false.

Read it (hawaii.gov/dhhl/applicants/appforms/applyhhl). And stop embarrassing yourself by telling bald-faced lies.

    You're not fooling anyone.

Unbelievable that this level of ignorance exists today. The scary part is that some people will believe it, simply because it is in print.

"Lucy, the earliest form of man discovered so far, is actually almost completely agreed upon as the skeleton parts of a chimp."

I thought this was a serious (though ignorant) article till I read this. This is hilarious!!!! A chimp!! That's great. Thanks for the laugh.

Although it may be true that the mainstream media tends to lean a bit left, Ben Nelson doesn't help substantiate that by the clearly ignorant and uneducated points made in the arguments expressed here. He is substantially more backward and uninfomed than most, which is apparent in this article. (sigh....) Enough said.

NotFooled- You fool, did you even read the entire page you linked to? If you read the entire code section (on the page) you will glean that a Certification of Live Birth will only suffice if the Dept. has your real certified birth certificate on file. Otherwise you must submit it.
Only this kind of fool would vote for a community organizer with no experience.

    @Hammy --

    What part of

"The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands accepts both Certificates of Live Birth (original birth certificate) and Certifications of Live Birth because they are official government records documenting an individual’s birth."

    don't you understand?

Mr. Nelson, given that your statement "At the time that Barack was born, people who were born from outside the United States could, in Hawaii, legally obtain a Certificate of Live Birth" is demonstrably false, why should we believe anything else you have to say? You've already proven yourself to be a liar.

Before anyone else jumps in here to repeat the lie that a person born OUTSIDE of Hawaii can get a Hawaiian birth certificate, I challenge you to try it yourself and get back to me here. I tried to do it. I failed because I WASN'T FREAKIN' BORN IN HAWAII. If you weren't born in Hawaii, then you will fail too. In any event, if you haven't tried, then you don't know what you're talking about and have no business weighing in on the issue.

Benjamin Nelson, if it's so easy to get a Hawaiian BC without being born in the state, then how's about YOU get one for yourself? That would put this puppy to bed pretty quick, dontcha think?

-- While Obama has a Hawaiian “birth certificate” and has shown it, that does not mean he was born in Hawaii --

Ben, this is nonsense. OBama's COLB clearly says he was born in Hawaii.

    Congratulations, you're spreadng lies.

----At the time that Barack was born, people who were born from outside the United States could, in Hawaii, legally obtain a Certificate of Live Birth. That does not mean that the person was born there.-----

Then why would the OFFICIAL, certified state document state that he was born in Honolulu if he wasn't?

Look at the birth certificate that was shown and tell me that is "Type" written or at best on a dinosaur "PIN" printer. It isn't. It is printed on a laser printer or high end inkjet. The sample 1963 birth certificate is how it should look (Or at least close to it). Why can't the long form be shown? Why can't he just come out with the long form and say "Look, read it and weap"? Here is the link with the two birth certificates - worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=101483
Why do the two look so much different? Why won't Obama show the long one? If he wants his administration to be so "transparent", why does he keep telling all the schools he "supposedly" attended to not give out his information. You can tell people they are drinking all the "Kool-Aid" you want, but why can't he just answer the questions with what the people want to see? They want the long form, show the long form. They want school records, let them get the school records. Don't hide!

Ok, if there was not a "long Certificate". His mother was not in the US long enough to be considered a legal citizen. So neither his mother nor his father were "legal" long enough to make him a legal citizen at birth.

"Everyone agrees that a newborn baby is a living thing, thus, in its earlier stage, as a fetus, it is a living thing."

Does this mean that in its even earlier stage, the sperm and egg cells are also life worth protecting? Perish the thought, then, that teenage boys are committing genocide every night!

Stanley Ann Dunham was born in Kansas. That made her a citizen by birthright. Obama was born in Hawaii. That makes him a citizen by birthright. Game. Set. Match. Get over it.

Go to Snopes.com and snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp about halfway down the article says that she had to live in America for 5 years after her turning 16. She was 18. The next paragraph tries to state that the Constitution doesn't matter concerning this. Isn't it amazing that people such as yourself can "cherry pick" what should be used from the Constitution to support what you want to happen in certain situations. Sure, anyone could say that anything is correct when they use only parts of the Constitution to support their argument. So if you read the Constitution and what it stands for completely your "Game, Match, Set" is in the wrong court. So you are saying that people like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr should have "Gotten over it" because you want to "Cherry Pick" the Constitution. I wonder what Dr. King would have said to you!!!

Chris, since 2001, when you request a copy of your birth certificate from Hawaii, they send you a certified COLB form.

It doesn't matter if you were born in 1945, 1961, or 2002, if you request a copy of your BC, the only thing you will receive will look exactly like the one posted on Obama's web site.

    - Evolution is an established fact. Understanding evolutionary processes is central to agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, conservation, and medicine.

    - The dichotomy that sexual orientation is either genetic or a choice is false. The characteristics of an organism develop from an interaction between its genes and the conditions under which it develops.

    - I've never heard anyone assert that an embryo or a fetus is alive. The question is, at what point does it have an identity as a distinct human individual? The cells in my toe are alive but they're not a human. The idea that a fertilized egg is a distinct individual human is a recent invention that does not correspond with traditional Christian thought.
