The Homer Township Board will vote Monday 6-7-10 on the following Resolution. The Board has the courage to stand firm for the Rule of Law. The various school districts seek referendums on a continual basis, which have continually failed. The question of over crowding may be mute if students, out of the district or not legally in this country are removed from the roles. High School District 205 has 200 too many students. If %5 of the 4000 students are removed, the taxpayers will not have to pay millions to build a new school. Immigrants until recently had to learn English as part of becoming a citizen. Englis need to be the official language.
Homer Township Resolution #HT060710
State of Illinois
County of Will
In Support of actions to enforce existing immigration law, to enforce residency requirements in our school districts, and to make English the official language of Homer Township.
Whereas, the Homer Township Board understands the Tax burden imposed on our citizens by illegal’s, the Homer Township Board supports of actions to enforce existing immigration law.
Whereas, children not in our school districts attending our schools cause overcrowding, increase our Taxes, and are part of our need for new schools, the Homer Township Board feels it would be prudent on the part of the school districts to enforce, and verify residency.
Where as, there is a cost for government in having multiple languages, the Homer Township Board adopts English as the official language of Homer Township.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Homer Township
supports actions to enforce existing immigration law; as well as the school districts verifying residency for each student; as well as making English the official language of Homer Township.
