Snow continued to fall on Flagstaff, Arizona today as the massive winter blizzard continues to hang over the area.
Roofs of several buildings have collapsed including the Jay Lively Ice Rink, Bookmans, JoAnns Fabrics and others according to the Arizona Daily Sun. Check out photos of the collapses HERE.
The National Weather Service says 11-15 inches of snow has fallen in the Flagstaff area as of 11am MST but another 5-11 inches were expected today and that same amount may come tonight. The area remains under a winter weather warning until tomorrow afternoon, when a few more inches are also expected.
I-40 and I-17 have been closed today, as have other highways in the area. For the latest in road closures call 5-1-1 in Arizona. Do note that they are experiencing a high volume of calls.
All day residents have been clearing roofs and waiting (and waiting and waiting) for snow plows to get to their streets. But as of this writing (3:30pm MST) many have not been cleared since the storm began, including mine.
Citizens are using snow plows in the streets to try to make them passable but in many cases they're still not. One of my neighbors found a friend with a bulldozer and he has made one drivable lane on our
street.
On one bright note, the cloud cover cleared for a few minutes to reveal blue skies. Nice to see something besides grey and white in these parts. (See photo right and in slideshow.)

Nice photos and article! I am stuck in Ohio today, the truck is in the shop. Maybe I am glad I am not on the road in Arizona. Salt Lake City Cross Country Travel Writer
